Our Mission Statement

St. John’s Lutheran Church is a people formed in the waters of Christian baptism to be a fountain of life for all who gather here, overflowing into a river of compassion for the world.

What is the first thing you notice when you walk into a church? The first thing you should encounter in a Christian church is the love of God in Jesus Christ. If that is not plainly visible, then the rest of what happens in there doesn’t really matter. We at St. John’s constantly experience the love of God in Jesus Christ. We try to reflect that love by being a fountain of life for everyone who comes through our doors. We strive to share that love by letting it flow into the community and the world.

St. John’s is not a place for people who are perfect. It is a place to experience forgiveness, renewal, community, love, and hope. Come on in, the water’s fine!

St. John's has parking for those with disabilities in our north parking lot (behind the church). In the far left corner, there is a door with an elevator sign, please enter through this door.

For those who are hard of hearing, St. John's has a T-coil hearing loop system in the worship area. There are also headsets available for use. If you prefer, you may bring your own personal ear buds or headset.

Cultivating Generous Congregations

This fall St. John’s is sending a group to a pilot program of the ELCA called Cultivating Generous Congregations. Members are asked to fill out this survey because the congregation is part of the program. The survey is for individuals so more than one person in the household can take the survey. It is for adults and youth to fill out. You will need to print out the copy, fill out both sides and return to church. Additional copies will be available at the office and Gathering Area of the church. Please take a few minutes to complete a survey and hand it in at the identified survey boxes. Please complete them by Sunday, October 13th.

St. John's offers a nursery for children ages 0 to 5.

During the worship services and education hour, Paige Burrows and Emily Manthei staff the nursery. Stop in and say hello!

(Worship on Wednesdays)

The play, "Dad's Disciples."

“The Letter” is the final drama in the story of Dad’s Disciples during the WOW! on October 16 at 7:15 p.m. Come and hear the message the father, Pastor Adam Duncan, has for his adult children now that he has died. They have struggled with gathering, money and stuff, doubt and forgiveness. What will he say to them in the letter than he could not in life?

The focus for October is a few of the parables in the gospel of Luke.

Join us on Sundays, October 6, 13 and 20, at 9:30 a.m. in the Promise Room.
